About Us
Our Story
We’re Keri and Patches, a husband-and-wife author team who discovered the joy of writing children’s books by accident. Inspired by real-life adventures and our best friend Scarlett "Scar", we create stories filled with heart, humor, and a touch of mischief. Patches, a disabled United States Marine Corps veteran, brings resilience and his playful personality to our characters—most notably Captain Patches, who shares his knack for being easily distracted and sometimes clumsy, but always kind.
Our mission is to inspire joy, curiosity, and kindness through imaginative stories that celebrate life’s simple but profound lessons. With every book, we aim to leave the world a little better than we found it, one childlike laugh or thoughtful moment at a time.
Our Team
At the heart of our team is the partnership between Keri and Patches. Together, we combine creativity, imagination, and a love of storytelling. Patches’ experiences and sense of humor meet Keri’s warmth and vision, making our collaboration truly special. And let’s not forget our official mascot, Scar, who is a constant source of inspiration and endless cuddles.
Our illustrator, Sergii, is the magic behind bringing our characters to life. With a keen eye for detail and a knack for capturing the heart of every tale, his artwork transforms our ideas into vibrant, unforgettable worlds.
Editor, Sirah Jarocki, has been the backbone of our journey, offering guidance and thoughtful suggestions while respecting our creative process. Her knowledge and experience are invaluable in helping us navigate the world of children's books.

This is the CUTEST book! I bought it for my cousin. Of course I had to read it first. I really enjoyed it. This would be a great book for a kid and parent to enjoy together. There’s a great lesson in the story. 10/10 well worth the $!

Love This Book! The pages open up so easily because of the vibrant colors. Easy for a young person to follow along, even better if the child is reading to you. Can’t wait to introduce Captain Patches and his pup Scar, to my great grandson!
